Old Mill on the Arno

This is a painting of a ruined mill by the Arno, a short cycle east of Florence, which I painted on location in January 2023. Originally I think it was a grain mill, which eventually fell into ruin when more modern technology came along. Part of it looked to have been converted to a house since then but a lot of the original structure was still remaining. I liked how the gloomy day helped contrast the subject against the hills and river, which may have not been as apparent if it was sunny.

Unframed size - 20 cm (H) x 30cm (W) x 1cm (D)

Additional information: Painted on Linen canvas board, using high quality michael harding oil paints, and finished with gamvar gloss varnish. Signed on the front, and titled, dated and a list of materials on the back.

Shipping: Free within the UK, £30 for the rest of the world. Paintings are shipped via express courier (UPS/Fedex or similar), securely packaged, and fully insured in case of any eventualities.
